Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the introduction of Ukraine sanctions against Russian banks, told journalists the co-owner of NLMK Vladimir Lisin. He noted that any retaliatory measures against Ukraine will not be made.

Earlier today the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has approved sanctions against several Russian banks.

“Sanctions for a period of one year will apply to public joint stock company “savings Bank”, PJSC VS Bank, JSC “joint-stock commercial industrial-investment Bank” (Prominvestbank. — RNS), OJSC “VTB Bank”, OJSC “BM Bank” in terms of prevention of a conclusion of capitals of the above entities outside Ukraine in favor of individuals associated with them”, — stated in the message.

On 15 March the national Bank of Ukraine has proposed to introduce sanctions against banks with Russian state capital operating in the country. The restrictions include a ban on capital flight outside Ukraine and operations with parent companies in Russia.

Today, the subsidiary Bank of Sberbank in Ukraine temporarily blocked transactions on credit cards of physical persons. yesterday the Bank has introduced new limits on customer transactions. On March 16, introduced a limit of transfers from one card to another — 30 thousand hryvnia per day excluding the fee. Also, restrictions were imposed on corporate card transactions cash withdrawal from card accounts in the amount of 20 000 UAH, $750 or €700 (depending on account currency) per day for one card account of the client, and any non-cash transactions with card accounts (including, but not exclusively, translations from the Bank cards, Bank card payments in retail and service networks, payments via the Internet, etc.) in the amount of UAH 30 000, $1100 or €1000 (depending on account currency) per day for one card account of the client. The maximum amount of one transfer including the fee remains at 14 999 UAH, the maximum amount of all transfers per month is limited to the amount 149 999 hryvnia.

On March 13 the head office of Sberbank in Kiev, on the street, Vladimir, has suspended work due to the blockade by activists of nationalist organizations “Azov” and “Right sector” (organization banned in Russia). Sberbank also reported that over the last week were more than 26 cases of vandalism against the offices and ATMs of the “daughter” of Sberbank in Ukraine. 14 March employees of the subsidiary Bank of Sberbank in Ukraine addressed an open letter to the President of the country Petro Poroshenko.
