Peskov denied the receipt of the letter to Putin Yanukovych with a request to send troops to Ukraine

Moscow. March 16. INTERFAX.RU Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that no letter from ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych addressed to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the administration of the Russian President was received.

“The fact that no letter is officially in the presidential administration were reported. No such document in the presidential administration were not recorded”, — said Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

He did not comment on the fact that, speaking at a meeting of the UN security Council, Russia’s permanent representative Vitaly Churkin spoke about the existence of such letter and that he is authorized to report on it

“I don’t know. I can only state the situation de facto and de jure, that is what I said” — said the spokesman.

March 4, 2014 at the meeting of the UN security Council, Russia’s permanent representative Vitaly Churkin said that Yanukovych had sent a written request to Putin to use Russian armed forces in Ukraine.

“As the legally elected President of Ukraine, appeal to President Putin asking him to use Russia’s Armed forces to restore legality in the territory of Ukraine,” Churkin quoted the letter. According to him, appeal to the President of the Russian Federation dated March 1, 2014.
