Erdogan accused the EU of “crusade” against Islam
So the Turkish President commented on the decision of the European court of justice confirmed the right of employers to prohibit employees to wear hijabs.
MOSCOW, March 16. /TASS/. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the European Union that he’s trying to start a “crusade” against Islam, the AFP news Agency reports. The reason for such statements was the decision of the European court of justice, which upheld the right of employers to impose a rule prohibiting employees to carry on the work of Muslim women’s headscarves and other “visible signs of religious affiliation”.
“What about religious freedom? — AFP quoted the words of Erdogan. Who made this decision? The European court of justice”. “Dear brothers, they began a crusade against the Crescent,” added the Turkish President, referring to the Crescent moon as a symbol of the Muslim religion.
“Shame on the European Union, Erdogan was quoted by Reuters. — Down with your European principles, values and justice. They started the clash between the cross and Crescent, there is no other explanation”.
