The Russian foreign Ministry responded to the transport blockade of Donbass

In Moscow with concern the decision taken by the Council of national security and defense Council (NSDC) decision on the termination of cargo and transportation with the Donbass. This was reported on the foreign Ministry’s website on Wednesday, March 15.

“We urge the Ukrainian leadership not to bring the situation to a humanitarian catastrophe and finally begin to diligently implement their obligations on the “package of measures”, including those relating to the recovery of socio-economic relations with Donbass”, — stated in the message.

The Ministry said that tensions in the Donbass was provoked by Kiev. “Particularly blasphemous words of the NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov about the fact that the blockade of the South-East will be valid until execution points of the Minsk agreements on ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy weapons from the contact line of the parties. For two years, as it stubbornly refused to comply with these provisions,” — said the Minister.

Earlier Wednesday, national security Council at the initiative of the President of Petro Poroshenko has approved the complete termination of transport communication with the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics (DPR and LPR) to return to the jurisdiction of the Ukrainian enterprises located on their territories. As said the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, the overlap of rail and road trade routes would not affect humanitarian goods and personal vehicles.

In turn, the head of the DND Alexander Zakharchenko said that trade and economic relations with Donbass and Ukraine will not be restored before the Kiev political part of Minsk agreements.
