MOSCOW, 14 Mar — RIA Novosti. The permanent representative of Russia to NATO Alexander Grushko is the main candidate for the post of permanent representative of Russia to the UN, told RIA Novosti several sources in the state Duma.
“The candidacy of Grushko considers the key to this position,” — said the Agency interlocutor.
The second source in Parliament also confirmed this information.
In addition, two other sources are also affirmatively answered the question whether Grushko main candidate for the post of permanent representative of Russia to the UN.
The position of permanent representative of Russia to the UN became vacant in connection with the death of Feb 20, Vitaly Churkin, who held the position since April 2006.
As reported in the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Russian diplomat passed away at the working post. Condolences on the passing Churkin expressed by world leaders.
Alexander Grushko works by Russia’s permanent representative to NATO since October 2012, he previously held the post of Deputy foreign Minister.
