“Roscosmos” has opened recruitment in the cosmonaut detachment to fly to the moon
The state Corporation “Roscosmos” on March 14, begins recruitment in the cosmonaut, told reporters the first Deputy General Director of the state Corporation Alexander Ivanov.
“The recruitment of astronauts will be held on March 14, the selection period will be until the end of the year,” — said Ivanov. According to him, the Corporation plans to select 6-8 candidates.
He noted that the previous set in the cosmonaut was in 2012. Also, he said, astronauts, selected this year will have the opportunity to work as in the near space (on the ISS) and in future — in particular, they can make its first flight at advanced space ship “Federation”, in particular to the moon.
“The goal is to select the best professionals who, possessing the skills of working with aerospace and/or aircraft, will become the first pilots of the new Russian spacecraft “Federation” will work on the International space station (ISS) and will be the first Russians who will fly to the moon” — said the press service of the Roscosmos.
Executive Director of manned space programs of the state Corporation Sergei Krikalev noted that the candidate for the cosmonaut must be under 35 years old, have a higher technical or scientific education.
