Ombudsman for children under the President Anna Kuznetsova proposed to impose a lifetime administrative supervision for pedophiles. On Tuesday, March 14, RIA Novosti reported.
“We propose to impose a lifetime administrative supervision over persons who have committed such an act and also a ban on any form of communication of those persons with a minor in administrative supervision. In addition, we advocate the creation of a registry of persons convicted of such crimes, to strengthen control over them,” said Kuznetsova.
According to the children’s Ombudsman for the last five years the number of crimes against sexual inviolability of minors is steadily increasing. Last year the increase was 40 percent. In 2016, there were more than 12 thousand of such crimes, while in 2012 they were less than nine thousand.
In February, the Federation Council member Elena Mizulina promised to submit to the state Duma a bill toughening punishment for sex crimes against children, up to life imprisonment if the offender — people from the close environment of the child, for example, his relative or teacher.
At the end of 2015 member of the Federation Council Anton Belyakov proposed to require life pedophiles to wear electronic bracelets.
