In Abkhazia began voting in parliamentary elections

SUKHUMI, March 12 — RIA Novosti. All 152 polling stations opened in Abkhazia, where in Sunday’s parliamentary elections, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.

It is expected that in the near future the President of the Republic Raul Khajimba will vote in the Sukhumi school № 14, where the polling station No. 2, fifth election district.

For seats in the unicameral legislature are fighting 137 candidates in 35 single-mandate constituencies

Of these, 113 were nominated by initiative groups, and 24 — party “Forum of national unity of Abkhazia” (six), “amtsakhara” (seven people), “Einar” (eight people) and “people’s front for justice and development” (three people).

If the “Forum of national unity of Abkhazia” is the party which supports the government, and “amtsakhara” is the opposition, “Einar” and “the people’s front for justice and development” consider themselves centrist political forces.

Won the district recognizes the candidate who receives 50% plus one vote. If none of the candidates in the district aren’t gaining more than half of the votes within two weeks, the CEC shall appoint the second round. Re-elections should be held within two months from the day of the first round. Elections are considered valid with a turnout of 25%.
