Sevastopol authorities confirmed the plans for the development of the civil sector of Belbek

The government of Sevastopol intends to implement a project of the civil sector of the airport Belbek. On Thursday, March 9, according to “remarks” with reference to the head of the Department of architecture and urban planning Alexander Molozhavenko.

According to him, the border sector was approved at the government meeting, now needs to be prepared project documentation and provided Federal funding for the project. Molozhavenko, said that a public hearing, the results of which the city government supported the project, took place in September 2016. He also noted that the timing of the project will be reduced to the end of 2017.

In December 2016, the interim Governor of Sevastopol Dmitry Ovsyannikov said that the project of the Sevastopol Belbek airport, while “lie on the shelf.” However, the mayor then said that Sebastopol needs to have its own air Harbor. “I am in the fighting stage over the Belbek, I will fight to the end for this project. Sevastopol needs its own airport!” — spoken by then Ovsyannikov.

In the same month it was reported that 1.7 billion rubles from the Federal target program intended to Belbek will be the contribution of Sevastopol in the authorized capital of the international airport “Simferopol”. As specified by “notes”, citing its own sources, the project of civil airport was suspended because of doubts as to easily carry passengers to the southern coast of Crimea.
