In 2017, Ukraine has bought nearly 70% of coal from Russia

From the beginning of 2017 Ukraine has bought from Russia bituminous coal and anthracite in the amount of 247 million dollars. This amounted to almost 70% of the total imports. About it writes “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to data of the State fiscal service of the country.

Much less coal is imported to Ukraine from the USA (18%) and Kazakhstan (5.7 percent). The share of other countries is the remaining 6.8 percent.

Ukrainian radicals and retired military blocked roads leading to the Donbass. Now Ukraine can not get coal from this region. In this context, Kiev has already introduced a state of emergency in the energy sector.
