Forecast: population of China by 2030 will reach 1.45 billion people

BEIJING, March 11. /Offset. TASS Alexei Selishchev/. The population of China by 2030 will be approximately 1 billion 450 million people. As stated to journalists the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for health and planning of China Wang, Paani, then the number of inhabitants will start to decrease.

“In China there is no shortage of people, and will not be observed in the next 100 years. By 2030, the population will reach a peak of 1.45 billion people by 2050, the figure will be 1.4 billion, and the end of the century the number of residents in China will decrease to 1.1 billion people. In this situation more important questions of education of the population and structural imbalances,” — said he.

In China, recent years have seen a process of rapid population ageing. The latest data show that at present in China there are more than 230 million people over the age of 60 years, accounting for 16.7% of the total population of the country.

Rapid ageing of the population has forced the authorities in 2013 to revise the policy “one family — one child”. Under the new rules now allowed to have a second child in families where the husband or the wife were the only children of their parents. Previously, to be eligible for a second child, both spouses had to be the only children in their families.

Persists in China and the problem of gender imbalances. According to the latest data, the male population by the end of 2016 amounted to 708,15 million people, and female — 674,56 million
