The state Department has ruled out the presence of Russia at the meeting of the coalition against IG

In Washington a meeting of the US-led international coalition against terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG banned in Russia) in the middle East. Russia to attend the negotiations. On Thursday, March 9, said the acting press-Secretary of the State Department mark Toner, said on the Agency’s website.

The Ministerial meeting will be held with participation of representatives of all 68 countries-members of the Association. “This will be the largest meeting since its first session in 2014… Russia at the negotiations will not, because it is not part of the coalition,” said Toner.

The meeting of foreign Ministers of the coalition will be held on 22-23 March, reports Reuters. USA will be represented by U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson.

On 9 March, the representative of the state Department announced that the U.S. intends to carry out the operation for the liberation of Raqqa from Syrian militants, along with Turkey and coalition partners. Earlier in the day it became known that Washington to storm the city sent 400 Marines and army Rangers.

On 7 March, the chiefs of General staffs of armed forces of Russia, Turkey and the United States in the trilateral meeting in Antalya discussed regional security in Syria and Iraq. Also, they talked about the current situation in the fight against terrorism in the Arab Republic in the context of improving the efficiency of countermeasures in future all terrorist organizations.

28 Jan US President Donald trump tasked his administration to find new foreign partners for the coalition leading the fight against ISIS. On the same day, the coordination of Russian and American military, he discussed in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The international coalition led by the United States in 2014 is conducting in Syria operation against terrorists. Russian HQs have begun to strike at Islamists in that country in the autumn of 2015.
