The Russian foreign Ministry commented on the recent hearings in the International court of justice in the Hague on the suit of Ukraine to Russia. As reported at the Thursday, March 9, the foreign Ministry believe that Kiev is using the process “for scoring politicized charges beyond the jurisdiction of the court”.
“Russia stated its position, provided evidence that Ukraine has failed to substantiate adequately its claim, and set out an objective picture of the situation in the South-East of Ukraine and in Crimea”, — said the Minister. The decision of the court, as noted, will be submitted soon. Exact date is not known.
9 March it became known that Russia handed over to the international court of justice documents, which expressed Moscow’s position on the conflict in the Donbass. 800-page dossier contains materials whose authenticity can be confirmed via public sources.
A day earlier, Ukraine decided to send to the Hague of all non-public correspondence with the Russian authorities, which took place since the beginning of the conflict in the Donbass. American lawyer David Zinc, one of the representatives of the delegation in the Hague said that in this way Ukraine intends to prove the falsity of Russian accusations that Kiev did not provide Moscow the particular claims.
Consideration of the claim of Ukraine against Russia in the International court of justice began on 6 March.
