The day before, armed with an axe man attacked the people at the main station of düsseldorf. First, he attacked the passengers in the car of one of trains then ran on to the platform. As a result seven people were injured, three of them are in serious condition.

While trying to escape from police a man was injured after jumping from a railway bridge. The malefactor was detained and taken to hospital. The suspect was a 36-year-old native of former Yugoslavia living in the city of Wuppertal. According to police, the man probably has a mental disorder.
