“As a result of the last time we were able to prevent provocative actions and all problems,” — said the Russian leader told reporters.

He noted that the parties “return to the path of true partnership and multifaceted cooperation.” Moscow sees Ankara as a key partner, Putin said.

Lately, according to him, Moscow and Ankara have managed, in particular, to restart the work of the joint group of strategic planning and intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation. Special services of two countries have reached a high level of engagement in Syria, which succeeded to achieve a ceasefire in the country, said the head of state.

Russian-Turkish relations deteriorated after the attack on the Turkish air force Russian su-24 bomber in the fall of 2015. They began to recover in June of 2016 — after the Turkish leader has officially apologized to the Russian side. October 10 last year, the Russian President made his first visit to Turkey after the crisis in relations between the two countries.
