Published color footage from Stalin’s funeral, filmed by the US military

Radio Free Europe has published a unique color footage from the funeral of Joseph Stalin. The footage was filmed from the window of the old U.S. Embassy in “national” hotel in Moscow.

The survey was conducted by the major of the American army Martin Manhoff. He served in the U.S. Embassy in the USSR from February 1952 to June 1954. Later he was banished from Moscow on suspicion of espionage.

This material decades kept in the house of the major in Washington state. After his wife’s death Manchia American historian Douglas Smith has asked permission to visit the house of the military, where I found unique footage.

“The last few months I have digitized and sorted pictures and movies,” – said earlier the historian.
