Poland thwarted the signing of the Declaration of the EU for the re-election of Tusk

Poland refused to sign the final Declaration of the EU summit due to the re-election of the President of the European Council Donald Tusk for a new term, reports Reuters.

The Prime Minister of Poland Beata Szydlo boycotted the signing of the document and said that, without the consent of all parties, the summit will not be recognized as valid. Thus, the Polish side decided to protest, because earlier in Warsaw was opposed to the new appointment of Donald Tusk.

Earlier it became known that Donald Tusk reelected as the heads of countries – EU members of the presidency of the European Council for the next two and a half years. Thus, Tusk will chair the structure until November 2019.
