U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson is exploring the possibility of mutual understanding with Russia on the situation in Syria. This was stated by a senior state Department official.
“The Secretary of state Tillerson and his team are studying how we can move forward on Syria and some other ways”, — quotes RIA Novosti his words.
The representative of state Department also noted that U.S. Secretary of state “had great respect for Russia”.
“There are areas that remain challenges for us, and we have to go through them,” he said.
Earlier it was reported that Rex Tillerson at a meeting with Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin confirmed that the anti-Russian sanctions will remain in force.
