March in Moscow over the past 136 years has become warmer by more than five degrees

“Global warming has led to the fact that during the period from 1880 to 2016 average March air temperature in Moscow increased by more than five degrees. For the 136-year period of observations there is a tendency to increase in precipitation,” — said the representative of the weather service.
The average monthly temperature of March in Moscow is minus 1.4 degrees. Over the long period of meteorological observations established that the coldest March was observed in 1888 (minus 10.4 degrees), in 1898 (minus 10,3), in 1917 (minus 10,4), 1942 (minus 9,7), in 1952 (minus 9), in 1963 (minus 9,4) and in 2013 (minus 6.6 degrees).
The warmest March was observed in 2007 (plus 4.4 degrees). The absolute minimum — minus 32.3 degrees — was recorded on March 13, 1902, the absolute maximum is + 19.7 degrees — 25 Mar 2014
Average precipitation in March is 34 mm. “In comparison with the other months of the year in March, the least amount of precipitation. In the driest months the rainfall amounted to 5 mm in 1928 and 1933, 6 — 7 mm in 1985 and 1986 and 14 mm in 2015”, — stated in the message.
The months with heavy rainfall from 77 to 95 mm were observed in 1891, 1896, 1937, 1966 and 2013; the daily maximum of 38 mm recorded on 11 March 1896.
