The U.S. General said, as intertwined with Russia’s modernization “of the nuclear triad”

The improvement of the nuclear forces of the United States has nothing to do with the arms race with Russia. America just wants to replace the existing system more competitive. This was stated by the Vice Chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, General Paul Selva.


 


In his words, Washington does not enter into arms race with Moscow. “…We have a bilateral verification regime for arms, which they place”, – quotes the Selva RIA Novosti.


 


He also stressed that the United States does not need new nuclear warheads. Citing scientists, Selva said that the current warheads of sufficient duration and fault tolerance, “in order… to confidently upgrade them with new technologies producing new warheads”.


 


Earlier, the US has urged trump to arrange with Russia a nuclear arms race.
