Pamfilova supported the postponement of the presidential elections in 2018 for a week
Moscow. March 7. INTERFAX.RU Head of the Central election Commission, Ella Pamfilova supported the postponement of presidential elections from 11 to 18 March 2018, said the press service of the CEC, placed at the disposal of “Interfax” on Tuesday.
“The CEC head Ella Pamfilova considers it appropriate to transfer for a week of presidential elections from 11 to 18 March 2018, if the legislative amendments are adopted”, — stated in the message.
Thus in the message it is noted that the head of the Central electoral Commission considers that in future “it would be possible to consider the possibility of holding all the elections in April or in October”
“From the point of view of elections for us the later the better. Since elections are announced somewhere in December, over 100 days. And the second half of December and the long January holidays to knock out a decent amount of time of the electoral cycle. Even a week or two will not interfere”, — the press service quoted the words Pamfilova.

The postponement of the elections
Earlier in conversation with the correspondent of “Interfax” state Duma speaker Vyacheslav Volodin hailed the idea of holding elections on 18 March 2018.
Thus, the speaker supported the initiative of the senators, Andrei Klishas and Anatoly Shirokov, who introduced to the state Duma a number of amendments, including the possibility of postponing the elections of the President of the Russian Federation on March 18.
The Kremlin has no position on the idea to hold the presidential election in 2018, on the third Sunday of March, the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.
“While any position on this matter is not formed, so there will need some time to think about this initiative,” — said earlier on Tuesday the press-Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
