Broke a mannequin in Las Vegas is accused of attempted murder

An unusual case is considered by court in the us state of Nevada: the man who was smashed with a hammer head doll, charged with attempted murder.

On Tuesday there appeared before the court 30-year-old Shane Allen Schindler arrested on one of the deserted night streets of downtown Las Vegas, where previously was beaten to death two sleeping homeless.

Hunting for the killer of homeless people, police used a mannequin as bait — and it worked.

Surveillance camera recorded as Schindler sneaks up on ukryta blanket dummy, pulls his hood up, takes out a plastic bag and hammer inflicts several blows on the head of a doll.

Schindler did not plead guilty immediately after his arrest he told the police that he knew that attacks on the dummy.

In the court of public defender has ridiculed the charges of attempted murder as “legally untenable,” saying that it is impossible to kill an inanimate object.

This case has caused debate among scholars, but the law of the state of Nevada, apparently, is on the side of the prosecution.

The state Supreme court twice, in 1976 and 1989, dismissed the case for the defence, who argued that “the impossibility of the crime from the perspective of the law means that an attempt to commit a crime from the point of view of the law is impossible.”

The laws of most us States take into account the intention of the accused at the time of the crime, told the associated press Professor of law at Fordham University, Deborah Denno.

“Yeah, you can’t kill a mannequin. But if everything was the way he thought he would have smashed a man’s head,” — said the lawyer.

The Prosecutor told the court that Shane Allen Schindler is “a serious danger to society,” and investigators believe that he may be responsible for the murder of two homeless people, although the allegations in these two paragraphs he’s been.

Along with the attempted murder of Schindler charged with concealed carry weapons. The judge sent him to a psychiatric examination.
