Leading researcher of the Center for Korean studies Institute of Far Eastern studies Konstantin Asmolov believes that Washington, under the guise of “North Korean threat” is increasing its forces in the region against China and Russia. “Moscow clearly understands that directly threats from North Korea is not, in any case, Moscow. There is indirect trouble, due to the fact that the activities of North Korea creates some region-wide security problems. First and foremost, they are related to the fact that under the guise of fighting a terrible DPRK, the us and its allies have built up strength not only against the North but against China and Russia. And you can pay attention, how nervous the Chinese because of the placement in South Korea, the U.S. missile defense system,” – said Asmolov.
He added that currently the US government can not establish a dialogue with the DPRK. The expert explained that in America so demonized Pyongyang that any attempt to start a conversation will be regarded as a deal with the devil.
In early March it became known that the United States has begun to deploy anti-missile systems THAAD in South Korea. This was in response to missile launches by the DPRK. North Korea later announced that it was trained to put the missile strikes on US military bases in Japan.
