During the search in the Center of the Roerichs in Moscow seized about 200 exhibits
Investigators took away, among other things, paintings, donated to the Museum by the former Chairman of the Board the Master-Bank.
Moscow. March 7. INTERFAX.RU — the International centre of the Roerichs (ICR) seized about 200 exhibits, including nine paintings donated to the Museum by Boris Baker, former Chairman of the Board of Master-Bank, has informed “Interfax” a source in the ICR on Tuesday.
“Seized 200 paintings, including nine paintings donated by Baker. The search was conducted across all offices,” — told “Interfax” in the ICR.
“Before the collapse of the Master Bank, Boris Baker donated to the Museum nine paintings by Svyatoslav Roerich (Roerich — if), which were purchased from the new York Museum sold its collection. He brought these pictures to Russia and presented to us. Last year these paintings are recognized as material evidence in a criminal case against Boris Ilyich”, — said earlier “Interfax” the Vice-President of the ICR Alexander Stetsenko.
“Interfax” does not yet have the comments of representatives of law enforcement bodies regarding this situation.
Earlier Tuesday, Stetsenko told “Interfax” that the police conduct in ICR investigations, seize the property.

Prior to that, he announced that the staff of the ICR were presented with subpoenas for investigation.
