The international court of justice began its consideration of the Hague claim of Ukraine to Russia
The international court of justice in the Hague began hearings on the suit of Ukraine against Russia. This was reported on the website of the MFA of Ukraine.
Ukraine in January filed a lawsuit in the international court in the Hague, which claims that Russia has allegedly violated Ukrainian territory on the two conventions — for the suppression of the financing of terrorism and the elimination of racial discrimination.
The Russian foreign Ministry said in turn that the evidence in support of its position Kiev did not and called the accusations by Ukraine are groundless. While in Moscow said that they intend to use all available remedies.
Kiev demands from the court to oblige Russia to “ensure effective control over its border, stop supplying weapons to Ukraine, to stop supporting illegal armed groups”, reports “RIA Novosti” with reference to the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.
The hearing will last four days. Monday and Wednesday, the Ukrainian side will present arguments, and Russian — on Tuesday and Thursday. As a rule, the international court of justice consider requests for indication of provisional measures on an expedited basis and a decision is expected within several weeks, added the foreign Ministry of Ukraine.
With regard to the consideration of the merits of the case, the international court must determine a schedule for parties to submit procedural documents in the next few months. Will then be assigned an oral hearing, said the Agency.
The Kremlin also repeatedly reminded that a party to the conflict in the Donbass is not Russia, and Kiev claims unsubstantiated, writes “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
