Russia calls upon all parties on the Korean Peninsula to exercise restraint

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Russia urges all parties on the Korean Peninsula to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation of tension. This is stated in comments published on the website of the Russian foreign Ministry in connection with the new missile launch of the DPRK on 6 March and the beginning of the exercises of the U.S. armed forces and the Republic of Korea on development of offensive operations against North Korea.

“In this context urge all parties involved to exercise restraint and to think seriously about the negative consequences of further escalation for security and stability in the region”, – said in the Ministry. “Still see a way out of the situation to step up our efforts on finding ways of politico-diplomatic settlement of the whole complex of problems of the Korean Peninsula,” the Ministry said.

Second, for the current year a missile launch, the DPRK was carried out on Monday morning. According to the Ministry of national defence of the Republic of Korea, the Korean people’s army (kPa) launched in an easterly direction four missiles flew about 1 thousand km. Three of them fell in the waters of the exclusive economic zone of Japan. The Republic of Korea and the United States began March 1, the traditional maneuvers of Foal Eagle, involving all types of troops. As reported by the Ministry of national defense of South Korea, they will last until the end of the month, and apart from the March 13 start command post exercise Key Resolve.
