Penelope Fillon and her husband
The spouse of the candidate in presidents of France from Republicans françois Fillon spoke about the work of her husband. Interview with a politician’s wife publishes the Journal du Dimanche.
According to Penelope Fillon, she decided to talk to journalists, to suppress a variety of “crazy rumors”.
As explained by Madame Fillon, it was always out of politics, and her work on her husband were of a technical nature. “I helped his Secretary. I cooked for my husband notes and memos about what is happening in his constituency Sarthe. I did something like press reviews” she said.
In addition, Penelope Fillon claims that he participated in the preparation of public speaking spouse, editing his speech.
March 1, Fillon announced that he will continue participation in the presidential race, despite the investigation at the Procurator fiscal of the country in respect of fictitious employment of his wife. The case was opened on February 24. The politician is suspected of embezzling public funds, misuse of public property, complicity and concealment of these crimes, trafficking in influence and the concealment of this information from the authorities.
On 25 January, the weekly Сanard enchainé (“the Chained duck”) published an article alleging that for several years, Penelope Fillon fictitiously was listed as an assistant to her husband, at a time when he was a member of the National Assembly (lower house of Parliament), for which he received remuneration in the amount of 500 thousand euros.
Later, the amount obtained by allegedly illegal means has increased to 900 thousand Euro, and accusations of fictitious work in his father was advanced to the son and daughter visit.
Presidential elections in France will be held in two rounds — on April 23 and may 7.
