“We have a happy event: our sailors already in Frankfurt (Germany), all alive and well, the negotiations were successful, and returned all eight captured members of the crew, seven Russians and one Ukrainian. The German company Briese held tense negotiations, during which, together with the Russian Embassy made all the necessary efforts for early release. Thanks to the coordinated actions of all crew members are released, they are alive and healthy,” said Bucy, adding that in the near future, sailors will return home. According to him, the relatives of the sailors had been notified about the successful release.

In the territorial waters of Nigeria on 5 February assault was made on the cargo ship BBC Caribbean, owned by the German company Briese Schiffahrts. The attack was captured seven Russian citizens and one citizen of Ukraine.
