In Tajikistan pilots of Russia delivered humanitarian aid to isolated the avalanche mountain village

EKATERINBURG, March 5. /TASS/. Aviation 201 Russian military base stationed in the Republic of Tajikistan and delivered more than two tons of humanitarian aid to the mountain village, cut off due to avalanches, and also evacuated a seriously ill man. This was announced by assistant commander of the Central military district (CVO) Colonel Jaroslav Roshupkin.

“Aviation 201 Russian military base stationed in the Republic of Tajikistan, connected with the mainland villages in the Eastern Pamirs, where the road descended to the avalanche blocked ground connection. Helicopter pilots brought in located in a mountain gorge village Sagirdasht more than two tons of food aid, which was met by the representatives of the administration and helped to unload soldiers of the local garrison,” said Roshchupkin.

He added that, returning to the airfield, the Mi-8 helicopter landed in the Badakhshan district center of Vanj. “The Russian military evacuated in Dushanbe in need of inpatient medical assistance to Tajik border guards,” said the Colonel.

At the end of February on the territory of Tajikistan was about 100 avalanches caused by the biggest over the past 30 years of snowfall. The number located in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous region rural settlements are still inaccessible to ground transportation.
