China intends to accelerate the development of artificial intelligence

China intends in 2017 to accelerate the technology development of artificial intelligence, mobile communication technology of the 5G standard, as well as research and development in other industries, according to the draft plan of socio-economic development of the country in 2017.
“To accelerate the research work on the creation of new materials, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, work in the field of biopharmacology, communication technologies of the 5G standard, as well as other technologies,” the document says.
Earlier, the Ministry of industry and information technology of China announced that the Chinese government plans by 2020 to increase the profit of the sphere of provision of telecommunications services and implementation of software (SW) to eight trillion yuan (about 1.2 trillion dollars). It was noted that the Chinese government plans by 2020 to enter commercial use of the communication standard 5G. It was also reported that by 2018 the country will have two million stations of mobile communication, able to provide services at the speed 4G.
By 2018, according to previously published Directive of the Ministry of industry and information technology of the PRC, the country needs to have about 90 thousand kilometers of fiber-optic cable to provide broadband Internet connection that will allow you to cover all the urban areas and 90% of rural areas.
