If the idea of the introduction in Russian legislation of norm about confiscation of property of corrupt officials will be formalized, it will be considered and it will form a point of view; while the position in this matter is not formed, said to journalists on Thursday, press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.
Earlier Thursday, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia Alexander Bastrykin said that only the introduction into Russian legislation of norm about confiscation of property of corrupt officials will lead to fracture of the situation with corruption in the country.
“Well, first, we have a provision in the law that allows you to confiscate property of the corrupt. If we are talking about a certain strengthening of these existing provisions in the legislation, which, incidentally, applies well, is the initiative of the head of the Investigative Committee. If it somehow will be formalized, then, apparently, as well as other initiatives in the field of legislation, they will be developed, reviewed, and will be formed some point. While the position of some in this regard has not been established”, — Peskov said, answering the question about whether the Kremlin with the position of Bastrykin.
