The UK foreign office called for strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia

UK considers it necessary to strengthen sanctions against Russia, said the Minister of foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, during the press conference of the heads of the Ukrainian, Polish and British foreign Ministry in Kiev.

“It is impossible to prevent the continuation of Russian aggression that we saw, — quotes mister Johnson “Interfax”.— We think pressure … should be strengthened, not Vice versa.”

Polish foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski said that the London and Warsaw offered Kiev to change the format of negotiations on resolving the conflict in the Donbass.

“We have not agreed, — he said.— We have hope for an opportunity to open a discussion about the new format.” Mr Waszczykowski stressed that the final decision will however be taken by the government of Ukraine.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that the meeting with Boris Johnson and Witold Wasikowski does not mean transition to a new format of negotiations on Donbas. “When three friends meet together — this is not necessarily the formal beginning of the new format, but it’s definitely the beginning of new joint efforts”, — stressed the Minister.
