Moscow. March 1. INTERFAX.RU head of the CPRF Gennady Zyuganov refuses to participate in the presidential elections of 2018. According to “Izvestia”, citing two sources close to the presidential administration, the party consults on party nomination of an alternative candidate.
According to sources the newspaper, the Communist leader proposed to establish a kind of short-list of three candidates whose age not exceeding 55 years.
Gennady Zyuganov participated as a candidate in the presidential elections in 1996, 2000, 2008 and 2012.
Also undecided about its participation in presidential race the leader of “Fair Russia” Sergei Mironov, write “Izvestia”. He took part in the elections in 2004 and 2012.
