The head of “Rostelecom” became Mikhail Oseevsky
MOSCOW, 1 Mar — RIA Novosti/Prime. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev signed a government Directive on the appointment of the Chairman of the management Board of VTB Bank Mikhail Tatarstan the head of “Rostelecom”.
“I now will give an indication that on the basis of this Directive has been assembled, the Board of Directors and to adopt all the necessary decisions”, — said the Prime Minister at a meeting with Oseevsky.
Governor, thanked Medvedev for the trust and expressed the opinion that the new position would require a serious responsibility, since the company is the base company for the Telecom industry. “And how the service will be modern and accessible, depends on the quality of life of our citizens, and the possibility of creating new, smart digital economy”, — he stressed.
Oseyevsky noted that over recent years “Rostelecom” has changed the structure of its business, moving towards providing digital services.
“Nevertheless, it is clear that the volume of these services should be expanded keeping in view and difficult to access regions, the implementation of the program of eliminating the digital divide. I think that there are serious resources to increase internal efficiency, reduce costs”, — he said, noting that that is what is planning to work in the near future.
Medvedev expressed hope that the company will increase the number of services convenient for citizens and other companies, and will vary in accordance with the changing overall, the market in the world
“I hope that our public company will meet all modern trends”, — concluded the head of the Cabinet.
