First Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on education and science, the former chief sanitary doctor of Russia Gennady Onishchenko believes that stray dogs must be euthanized because they are a threat to human life and also carry the threat of infection. This opinion was expressed on air of TV channel “Russia 24” on Tuesday, February 28, reports TASS.
“Where there is an established culture in Moscow, for example, send the dogs to shelters, those who are not taken, you need to kill with humanitarian methods, that is, the injection of the Dog is a carnivorous animal that’s on her mind, we don’t know… No animal on the street should not be”, — said Onishchenko.
On February 27 Deputy Chairman of State Duma Committee on ecology and environmental protection, the member of fraction of LDPR Cyril Cherkasov said that in the lower house of Parliament for several years is a bill providing for the destruction of aggressive animals on the spot. “In what way it will be done — a matter for experts. Or shoot dogs or euthanize them,” he explained.
He also suggested that stay-at-home seniors control for pet owners who walk them without a leash and muzzle.
