Islam can become the most popular religion until the end of the 21st century. It is stated in the forecast of the American research center Pew Research Center.
According to researchers, in 2010, lived in the world 1.6 billion Muslims, or 23 percent of the population.
According to projections, if current demographic trends continue, the number of adherents of Islam will outnumber Christians by the end of this century. The reason for this is the high birth rate among Muslims and, as a consequence, the relatively young age of most of the followers of Islam.
