MOSCOW, April 28. /TASS/. Montenegro will not benefit from NATO membership, as it will be dragged into a global confrontation that did not need the peace-loving people of this country. This opinion was expressed by TASS first Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Franz Klintsevich, commenting on the adoption by the Parliament of Montenegro decision on membership in the Alliance.
The Senator noted that the decision was expected.
“Our negative attitude to it (decision) is known. And it’s not just that it affects the interests of Russia. NATO membership is not necessary first of all Montenegro is a peaceful, friendly, quite quiet. This nation would somehow be involved in global opposition, and from this he obviously will not win,” – said Klintsevich.
“I’m afraid that it might change our relationship with Montenegro is not in a good way. And it’s not our choice”, – concluded the Senator.
