The majority of Russians (72 percent) believe that fathers can not worse than the mothers to care for young children and run the household. This is evidenced by data survey of the national center for the study of public opinion (VTSIOM), published on the website of the organization.
About 42 percent of respondents called normal situation, when a woman immediately after childbirth goes to work. The opposite view is held by 56% of citizens. At the same time, according to 48 percent of the respondents, the main function of the men in the family to financially support relatives. Disagree with them 46 percent.
According to the respondents, the father’s education creates in the child a respect for women (41 percent), their courage and bravery (32 per cent), responsibility (30 percent), industry (16 per cent) and determination (11 per cent).
“In recent years, due to significant transformations in the labour market occurred significant changes in the distribution of family responsibilities between spouses. From fathers increasingly expect not only perform the functions of material support of family members, how many actively participate in the education of children at all stages of their socialization — although the role they play is often still considered secondary,” commented data research Director VTSIOM Elena Mikhailova.
The telephone poll was conducted April 14-15. It was attended by 1200 people over the age of 18.
According to the survey “Levada-center” conducted in the summer of 2016, the main reasons for family quarrels among the Russians are lack of money (37 percent) and lack of understanding (32 per cent). Also conflicts arise over the allocation of household responsibilities (28 per cent), solution to the question, who determine how to spend the money (16 percent), and problems with children (15 percent). However, about a quarter of respondents (26 percent) never fight.
