Bob Dylan won the Nobel prize in Stockholm
STOCKHOLM, April 1. /Offset. TASS Irina Dergacheva/. The Nobel medal and diploma was on Saturday awarded to the winner of the 2016 Bob Dylan in the Swedish capital. This was confirmed by the TV channel SVT, the Swedish Academy member Horace Engdahl and Secretary Sara Danius.
In accord with the wishes of Bob Dylan’s presentation was in a chamber setting, none of the media representatives there was not only included Bob Dylan and members of the Academy. Any details about the ceremony are not reported.
The singer, probably, also gave videotaped Nobel lecture. The speech from the Nobel lecture within 6 months after the awards ceremony — a necessary condition for obtaining the winner of the cash component of the prize of 8 million crowns ($909 thousand).

Unique winner
Dylan was not present at the awards ceremony, 10 Dec 2016 Informed the Swedish Academy announced that the singer, apparently, will receive the award and deliver a traditional lecture in the spring.
The name of the winner in literature was a major surprise ceremony last year. Prize 13 Oct awarded poet and performer Bob Dylan “for the creation of poetic images in the great American song tradition.” He became the first musician to be awarded the Nobel prize in its history.
Dylan is the author of the songs “Blowin’ in the Wind” (released in 1963), “The Times They Are a-Changin'” (1964), “Like a Rolling Stone” (1965), he published the legendary albums “The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan” (1963) and “Highway 61 Revisited” (1965).
Songs and literature
In mid-November, the Swedish Academy informed that the singer will not attend the award ceremony. “The Swedish Academy received a letter from Bob Dylan where he says that he will not be able to get rid of Affairs and to come to Stockholm to receive the Nobel prize for literature. He would like to accept the award personally, but other commitments make it, unfortunately, impossible. He stressed that very flattered that awarded the Nobel prize”, — noted in a press release.
At the ceremony in honor of Dylan sounded applause, and the American singer and poet Patti Smith performed his song “A Hard Rain’s a-Gonna Fall” (1962), which was chosen for this event.
“I have many times asked myself: are my songs literature? I thank the Swedish Academy for the fact that she took the time to think about this question, and, most importantly, to give such a wonderful response,” wrote Dylan’s acceptance speech.
