The press service of the Governor of Irkutsk region Sergey Levchenko refuted local media reports the death of the head of the region. About it reports TASS.
“Sergey Georgievich is alive and well. Tomorrow morning upon arrival in Irkutsk he will appeal to law enforcement to find out who started the rumor about his death, and deliberately misinformed the population”, — said the Agency head of the press service of the Governor of Irina Aleshkevich.
According to her, the source of information about the death of 63-year-old Levchenko in one of the Moscow clinics has become Irkutsk Internet resource. “This news, after it sold, they are removed from the site, but we managed to make screenshots. They will also be referred to law enforcement,” said, Alashkevich.
She recalled that the Governor is on a working visit in Moscow. “Today he had a number of meetings. We have already said, our schedule is tight. It may also be released today in a live broadcast on one of the channels”, — assured the press Secretary.
On March 27, the portal site “Irkutsk-New” message appears with a link to the sources that Levchenko died in a Moscow hospital. The cause of death was not called. The publication was removed, but available in Google cache.
Sergey Levchenko took the post of Governor of the Irkutsk region in October 2015. Previously he was the Deputy of the state Duma.
