Putin approved the composition of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation

The new version of OP on the presidential quota included, in particular, academician Leo Bokeria, representative of Russian Orthodox Church Vladimir Legoyda, singer and public figure Diana Gurtskaya, chess player Sergey Karjakin.

MOSCOW, March 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed members of Public chamber (OP). On Monday has informed a press-service of the Kremlin.

“To offer members of the Public chamber, approved this decree, together with members of the OP of the Russian Federation, delegated by public chambers of subjects of the Russian Federation, to begin the formation of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation”, — stated in the decree of the President.

The new version of OP on the presidential quota included, in particular, academician Leo Bokeria, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church and society and the media Vladimir Legoyda, journalist Valery Fadeev, Director Vladimir Khotinenko, singer and public figure Diana Gurtskaya, the head of the Russian rhythmic gymnastics Federation Irina Viner-Usmanova, chess player Sergey Karjakin. The list included 40 people.

The public chamber operates in Russia since 2005. It is elected every three years, its purpose is to help the interaction of citizens and public associations with bodies of state power and local self-government to defend the interests of citizens, protect their rights and freedoms in the formation and implementation of state policy, and to ensure public control over activity of authorities.

Earlier, Secretary of Commerce Alexander Brechalov reported that from 2017 OP will be formed anew, will be excluded Internet voting in the formation of third part OP. The first part 40 persons will be introduced in the composition of the presidential quota, 85 people will represent the subjects of the Russian Federation, this part will be formed by representatives of the national and public associations.
