The founder of Vkontakte and Durov Telegram appears in the club WEF as a representative of Finland.
The founder of VK and Telegram Pavel Durov and the Minister of economic development Maxim Oreshkin entered the club of young global leaders the world economic forum (WEF). Each year the WEF selects 100 young leaders worldwide under the age of 40 who solve complex problems using innovative approaches, according to the website of the forum.
The annual selection is conducted among more than 5,000 candidates employed in different spheres of cultural, social and economic activities in all regions of the world
In 2017 the WEF for the first time divided them into two sectors, businessmen and representatives of other spheres. Among them there are Ministers, CEOs of the Fortune 500, the winners of the Olympic games and even the owners of the award “Oscar”.
Since the founding of the club in 2004, includes more than 800 people. They participate in the annual summits of the WEF, discusses the prospects of development of the world community and put forward initiatives to address socio-political problems.
Pavel Durov was included in the list as a representative of Finland. In 2007 he founded “Vkontakte” — the largest Russian social network. But in 2014, after a joint conflict with the Fund UCP, which then owned 48% of “Vkontakte”, Durov left the company-he sold his share of the then General Director of “MegaFon” Ivan Taurino.
