A resident of Ulan-Ude (Buryatia) proposed to replace the head of Lenin on the Central square of the city, the statue of the Buddha. A publication with a picture processed in the photo editor, he posted in the community “Anonymous 03” in “Vkontakte”.

The sculpture “Lenin’s Head” with a height of 7.7 meters, width of 4.5 meters and a weight of 42 tons was opened in Ulan-Ude in November 1971. The monument was replaced three statues of smaller dimensions, and installed on Lenin street. In 2015, the sculpture was entered in the Russian Book of records.
