Satyarthi thanked the police for the return of copies of the medal and the certificate. In his statement, he noted that this award belongs to every citizen of India and the Indian child.
Kailash Satyarthi is the founder of the “Bachpan, Bacao Andolan” that fights against exploitation of children and slavery. Satyarthi and his organization managed to release more than 80 thousand children, and to promote their rehabilitation, reintegration into society and education.
In 2014, Satyarthi became a Nobel peace prize along with Pakistani human rights activist Malalai Yousafzai. They were awarded the prize for struggle against suppression and exploitation of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.
