Spring has written to the Minister of education and science proposals for studying cyber threats on the lessons
Vice-speaker of the state Duma emphasized that the educational process can not ignore the emerging threats to information security of children.
MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Vice-speaker of the state Duma Irina Yarovaya sent a letter to the Minister of education and science of the Russian Federation Olga Vasilyeva with the proposal to extend the school curriculum and life safety Informatics topics involving the study of issues relating to personal safety and regulations for the protection from cyber threats. Spring, who previously acted as the author of the bill on the protection of children from inducement to suicide and the introduction of criminal penalties for organizers of hazardous activities for children and adolescents, considers it necessary “the adoption of comprehensive measures aimed at the prevention of these types of socially dangerous activities.”
“It is obvious that the skills of security that you want to instill in students should take into account modern technology and the educational process can not ignore the emerging threats to information security of children,” the letter reads.
Spring stressed that the national strategy of actions in interests of children for 2012-2017, approved by the decree of the President, relates to the growing problems of inconsistency of current systems of ensuring information security of children to new risks associated with the development of the Internet and information technology.
“We need to revise the school curriculum on life safety and Informatics, — assured the Vice-speaker. — Our children have the knowledge and skills of personal safety in the information field and must understand the danger they face to avoid the threat.” Furthermore, additional techniques that can be developed jointly with the interior Ministry, Roskomnadzor, psychiatrists to ensure that teachers possess the primary knowledge of how to recognize complex emotional state of the child. “We are fully ready to cooperate with all agencies in this matter,” affirmed the politician.
Spring March 9 submitted to the state Duma a bill on criminal liability for declination of minors to suicide and bringing them to suicide. The maximum penalty in the case of multiple offenses by these regulations may be 12 years imprisonment. The bill was the result of the work of the special unit created in the state Duma in November last year under the leadership of Spring. The document received positive feedback governments and the Supreme court.
