Earlier the constitutional court of Korea unanimously supported the decision of the Parliament on the impeachment of President Park Geun-Hye. The reason was a political scandal that erupted after it became known that the President admitted to the secret documents, his girlfriend Choi sung-SIL, thus violating the country’s Constitution and other laws. A friend of the President also suspected that she was extorting money from large Korean companies, making the transfer of large amounts of associated funds.

In the case of Choi sung-SIL, among other is the head of Samsung Lee Jae-Yong, who is accused of bribery in the amount of 43 billion won ($37.5 million) for lobbying the interests of the company.
