The Ministry of transport are discussing the introduction of post-flight testing pilots for alcohol
MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. State Secretary, Deputy transport Minister Sergei Aristov told TASS that the Agency discussed the possibility of introducing post-flight checks of pilots and flight attendants, as well as train drivers and bus drivers on the maintenance in blood of alcohol and drugs.
According to him, “debated the question of verification of the aircraft commander or the driver of the vehicle after the flight or after the trip (on the maintenance in blood of alcohol or drugs), because before the trip or up to the flight, these checks are now carried out”. “This issue is only being discussed, while there is no specific rule,” added Aristov.
“We have a principle of mandatory liability for all types of transport. It is equally unacceptable — and the drunk driver and the drunk driver of a passenger locomotive, or the driver of the bus,” he said.
“Bill this yet, but conceptually we are discussing this issue”, — said the Deputy Minister, adding that this topic has appeared in the Ministry of transport “with the filing of public opinion.” “It is a thought that is not from us, and from society; we hear it”, he concluded.
