Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is not a party to domestic conflict in the Donbass, so the weapons in the hands of the militias responsible Kiev, not Moscow. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“Russia was never a party to the hostilities in the South-East of Ukraine. Earlier in the hearings in the International court of the UN, Russia rejected the accusations of Ukraine of supporting terrorism and supplying weapons to the militias. The Russian foreign Ministry said that the source of arms for the DNI and LC began “stocks that went to Ukraine inherited in 1991 from the Soviet army.” Diplomats noted that most of the weapons could be in the mines of Donbass.
On the question of whether Russia recognizes the decision of the court of justice, regardless of its content, Peskov said that “the Russian side is a party to this proceeding, that is, if Russia did not recognize the decision of the court, then, accordingly, she would not have been party to this proceeding”.
