The Kremlin has rejected the accusations against Russia of violating the INF Treaty

According to the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, Russia will remain committed to all international obligations, including those arising from the INF Treaty.

MOSCOW, March 9 /TASS/. Russia is committed to implementing its international obligations, including under the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range nuclear forces (INF). This was stated to journalists the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

“Russia was, and still is, and will remain committed to all international obligations, including those arising from the INF Treaty,” — said the representative of the Kremlin. “Therefore, we do not agree, and we reject any accusations in this regard”, — said Peskov.

He recalled the words of Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia remains committed to international obligations, often even in situations where it didn’t quite fit her interests. “Sometimes we have to be flexible in what we do,” — said Peskov.

For example, he noted that the Russian leader had previously noticed that around US there are no countries that can pose a threat, using missiles short and medium range. “In a situation with the Russian Federation and with our Eurasian geopolitical position, we have a completely different architecture possible threats to our security. Nevertheless, Russia still remains committed to its obligations”, — concluded the press-Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
