The New Yorker magazine came with the cover with the image of Putin

WASHINGTON, March 6 — RIA Novosti. The next issue of the American weekly the New Yorker came on Monday with the cover in Russian language and with the image of Russian President Vladimir Putin, reported on the official website of the publication.

On the cover in Cyrillic is written “new Yorker”. In the foreground Putin, who looks through a monocle at a butterfly flying with head of U.S. President Donald trump.

Artist illustration Barry Blitt also signed on the cover his name in Russian.

Illustration is explained by the article “Active measures”, entitled the same as “Putin, trump and the new cold war,” authored by journalists Evan Osnos, David Remnick and Joshua Yaffa

Multipage work of three journalists of The New Yorker is a statement of known facts and accusations against Russia on the background of historical events of the recent past with the comments of the representatives of the contemporary Russian opposition, and some experts, but the bulk of American politicians, former officials and military and unnamed “administration officials” of the United States.

A generalization of the well-known

The article, which, by its volume claims the whole journalistic research, begins with an overview of the history of confrontation between the USSR and USA during the cold war with emphasis on the efforts of the Soviet secret police to conduct anti-American information campaigns.

The second part of the article entitled “Cold war 2.0” is an overview of a tradition for the American press and politicians of accusations against Russia in carrying out cyber-attacks and the “intervention” in U.S. elections in 2016. These charges Moscow has repeatedly called unproven.

The third part of the “World of Putin” devoted to a brief presentation (in typical West critical way) of domestic and foreign policy of the current President of Russia, focusing on Russian-American relations.

Another part called “Hybrid war” for the history of cyber attacks in recent years, for which, in the opinion of the authors of the article, it was the Russian hackers and/or government authorities of the Russian Federation, since 2007.

Description is to review hacking databases of the U.S. Democratic party, the world anti-doping Agency and a number of other systems. In addition, the authors note that during the US presidential election against Hillary Clinton was an active campaign of misinformation.

The fifth and final part of the article is called “Theory of turbulence” and is devoted to the events after the inauguration of Donald trump and his alleged relations with Russia, which are written in the American media.

The authors acknowledge that “no reasonable analyst believes that active actions of Russia in the United States and Europe led to the rise of trump and nationalist politicians in Europe.” However, they finish the article by the Russian journalist Alexei Venediktov that the “turbulence in America,” in connection with the scandals surrounding trump’s beneficial for Russia, which has “a free hand”.

Literary-journalistic magazine The New Yorker reprinted in 1925 approximately 47 per year. The cover of the publication has repeatedly caused controversy audience.
